About the program

Open to all Jewish students regardless of level of observance; participants must keep the program's rules, which the site says include Modern Orthodox observance of Shabbat, kashrut, attire and behavior.

Students take Judaic courses in the mornings and general university courses in the afternoons at Bar-Ilan University, Monday to Thursday, all taught in English, and live in separate men's and women's dorms in Ramat Ef'al. The program adds trips around Israel, volunteering (including Magen David Adom), internships, Israel advocacy and leadership options, Shabbat weekends away and evening programming. The site states that Israel XP is an independent entity that works with Bar-Ilan University to provide classes and credits.
